Could you describe your road from the data collector role to the Operations Manager?
I began my journey at IMG Arena as a golf event operator and data collector. This role offered me the opportunity to travel extensively, attending numerous prestigious golf events worldwide. Through these experiences, I gained a deep understanding of technical operations and the intricacies of data collection. This foundation paved the way for my involvement in the ODCN project, which has been a remarkable three-year journey. It has been a period of intense dedication, hard work, and collaboration with an incredible team, without whom none of this would have been possible.
As a data collector, you travelled a lot. Which of the places you visited around the world impressed you the most?
Among the many places I’ve visited, the Ryder Cup in the USA left the most lasting impression. The event is a pinnacle of excitement and top-tier golf, filled with unforgettable moments and intense emotions. It was an incredible experience to witness such a high level of competition and enthusiasm firsthand.
What are some of the biggest challenges you face in managing operations and how do you overcome them?
Managing operations comes with its set of challenges, including coordinating various teams across different time zones, ensuring quality under tight deadlines, and managing unexpected issues. I try to overcome these by maintaining clear and constant communication, implementing contingency plans, and fostering a culture of flexibility and problem-solving within the team.
How do you support and motivate your team to achieve operational excellence?
I support and motivate the team by setting clear expectations, providing regular feedback, and recognizing their hard work and achievements. I also ensure they have access to the necessary resources and training which allows them to excel in their roles. Encouraging a collaborative environment where everyone feels valued and heard is key to maintaining high morale and performance.
How do you balance short-term operational needs with long-term strategic goals?
Balancing short-term operational needs with long-term strategic goals requires careful planning and prioritization. I focus on aligning day-to-day tasks with our broader objectives, ensuring that every action contributes to our long-term vision. Regular reviews and adjustments help keep us on track and responsive to any changes in the business environment.

The most rewarding moment in my career was the successful launch of the ODCN project. Seeing the culmination of hard work, teamwork, and dedication come to fruition and witnessing the positive impact it had on our company operations was incredibly fulfilling.
How do you balance your professional life with your interests and hobbies?
Balancing professional life with personal interests requires careful time management and setting boundaries. I make it a point to allocate time for family, friends, and hobbies such as board games, reading, cycling or various other sports. This balance helps me stay refreshed and maintain a high level of productivity and creativity at work.
Do you have a favourite sport or team that you follow?
Yes, I am a passionate follower of golf. The precision, strategy, and mental strength required in the sport are qualities I greatly admire. I particularly enjoy following major golf tournaments.
What book has had the most significant impact on your life or career?
There isn’t a single book yet, that stands out as the most influential in my career or life. I try to gain valuable insights from every book I read, and I highly recommend exploring a diverse range of works, as this not only broadens our horizons, but also enhances our ability to understand different perspectives.
